Although Chris still thinks that Booty is a pinhead (and I doubt this performance has convinced many that Josh Booty is the answer), you have to commend Josh Booty for this performance. He not only didn't throw any interceptions, but also he had some beautiful T.D. passes dropped. Yet, he stayed back in the pocket and didn't try to make something out of nothing. IMHO, the best pass he threw all night was when he threw the ball 15 yards out of bounds on a 3rd and 12, when he had no one open. In the past, he would have thrown an interception. I believe that Saban had him on a short leash and he knew it. The big question is who will start next week assuming Reaux can go. One thing to keep in mind is that Kentucky is the 12th rated D in the SEC in BOTH run defense AND pass defense.
As far as the defense, Kentucky went up and down the field all night. We put very little real pressure on the Fat Boy (BTW, they said on the radio that they had weighed him the week before and he was up to 307). Their receivers had a field day running around our secondary. While they didn't score and the D should be commended for that, it is clear that we still have major problems back there. At some point in the game, Hookfin was taken out and replaced with Robert Davis. Clearly, this was a good move. I am worried about MSU next week as we will also have to respect the MSU running game, something we didn't have to worry about with Kentucky.
Now, the pix:
Reggie Robinson streaks down the field wide open as Booty misses him. Click on picture to see it in action.
Finally, Craig, our new official Bushwood Videographer, caught the following on tape. Keep your eyes on the hand of the bald guy (horseshoe) in the tan shirt towards the front of the shot. He is copping a feel on the ass of the woman in front of him. She seems to enjoy it. You may have to play it twice. BTW, it is best viewed on the Microsoft Media Player (I've had some trouble calling it up on the Real Player).
